Some regarded the Lexus LS430 to be the most reliable car in the world. While 2001-2003 was a solid design, the 2004-2006 was considered to be even better. They had a 6-speed transmission and better body styling over the older generation.
The gauge clusters were different between the two generations, the earlier having red needles and later having white needles.
Both generations suffered from displays that fade out or become dim and full power loss issues. The gauges will sometimes appear to be bouncy upon start up and there is not much that can be done with this. All of Lexus and Toyota cluster used older stepper motor technology prior to approximately 2002-2005.
